Reno, Nevada

During this year's Safari Club Exhibition in Reno, Patrick was impressed with a small visitor to his exhibit. The boy was dressed in a black hat, tasseled shirt, blue jeans, cowboy boots and spurs and packing double revolvers on his waist he was the smartest little cowboy in the west. Polite and proper, he told Patrick his name was Luke Merrill.

When asked how fast he could draw, the five year old spread his stance and in a blur of hands drew two revolvers, fired each one three times and had them back in their holsters within a second and a half.

Patrick invited Lightning Luke to come back the following day and meet President George Bush Snr. when he came to visit Patrick's exhibit.

At 8.30 the next morning, Luke cocked his hat and greeted the President.
"How do you do Mr. President, my name is Luke"
"How do you do Luke, where are you from?
"California Mr. President"
"Whereabouts in California?"
and as only a 5 year old cowboy could put it, Luke said "Hobart Boulevard, behind the liquor store in the blue house Sir."
It was one of the great cameos of the wonderful trip to Reno.
