The Mavros flagship store on Londons Fulham Road is now established on the Londons luxury goods shopping map - and many customers have been delighted to discover that the downstairs display area also houses a fully operational silver cleaning unit.
Some older pieces, despite diligent application of silver foams and polishes, have oxidised over the years - this happens most often in high humidity climates - and so owners of Mavros silver are welcome to bring or send in their sculptures for a professional deep-cleaning. The service is complimentary and the result is a complete rejuvenation and the piece is returned to its owner as sparkling as the day it was purchased.
Please contact the store for more details - or if sending by registered post or courier, remember to clearly include your return address!

A Passion for Silver
The Fulham Road flagship store got in the mood for Valentines Day: a sensuous display of massed red amaryllis and Patricks sparkling silver candle holders lit up a passionate backdrop for two lovingly entwined salsa dancers. High romance on the high street!
Reno 2005
Patricks exhibition at the Safari Club International Convention in Reno, Nevada was a huge success. A magnificent booth, double the size of previous years, was a magnet for wildlife enthusiasts and art lovers. Many longstanding customers, collectors and friends made a point of dropping by for a chat and to inspect some of the newest sculptures and jewellery.
Exhibition in Moscow
The first Patrick Mavros exhibition in Russia was hosted by Alexander Mavros at the end of February. Alexander brought several degrees of African heat to the ice and snow of a winter-bound Moscow, with a beautiful display of Mavros silver artworks which attracted plenty of attention at the 10th annual Hunting and Fishing in Russia exhibition, held at the All-Russian Exhibition Center in Moscow.
Wearable art Innovations
The existing range of wearable sculptures is receiving an overhaul, while aficionados can look forward to the launch of a brand new range of African-inspired jewellery for men and women later this year. Many of the new pieces were designed by Forbes Mavros under Patrick's direction.

Q Are you still manufacturing your art in Harare?
A Mpata Farm outside Harare is still our home and Zimbabwe our country. The silver sculptures and jewellery are still made in our workshops fifty paces from our home. Little has changed other than seeing the boys become more involved in design and in the workshops where some of their childhood friends are now working.
Q Of all your work, which is the piece or collection of which you are most proud?
A I love my original Candelabra pair. It depicts Mopane Trees with elephants at the bases of the trees. The candle holders are elegant, practical and light a fire for anyone who knows Africa.
Q What is the most challenging commission piece you have ever made?
A My latest collection of a sounder of 30 charging wild boar. This was designed as a table centre piece lit by five different candles holders in the form of oak trees. The boars have been sculpted in minute detail and getting a boar or sow to look good when charging down a dining room table took some doing. The end result runs the full length of a table made to seat 24 guests. The sculptures stand 4-5 inches high and capture the most characteristic attitudes of the animal. The whole piece took 14 months for me to complete and weighs 58lbs.
Q How do you cope with your intense schedule of travelling, exhibiting and running your operations in both Harare and London?
A First and foremost with the support and love of my wife Catja who has spent more time facing the day to day realities of Africa and our home than I have.
My passion for art, adventure and improvement is a fuel that fires me up everyday. How lucky can a man be, wife, sons, energy, health and a natural desire to work hard and play hard. I just love doing what I do everyday.
Q What is your favourite food?
A Hot Peri Peri Chicken and Chips
Q It is true that those cigars you favour are actually a secret blend, handmade for you in Zimbabwe by Cuban immigrants?
A That is true but it is the maidens that are the secret.
Q What is the single most useful piece of advice you could give to an aspiring artist?
A Just do it and sell it for an affordable price.
