The water holes set in the arid sands of Hwange National park are obscured by clouds of sweet smelling dust as herds of elephant race to drink in the late afternoon heat. Hera is the name I gave to a little girl elephant who I saw standing on her three big feet, just like a ballerina, as the dust settled around her.
