Gogo is the Shona word for grandmother and although this old lady was never a matriarch, her close protection of and attention to calves over the years, earned her that name. Her domain was the Umfumudzi wilderness area on the plateau above the Zambezi Valley, separated from Mudzi communal land by the Mazowe River.
