In 1985 I bought a large 119 pound tusk from the Department of National Parks and Wildlife. The legendary game warden, Willem De Beer, later identified it as belonging to a well known single-tusker of the Chipatani Hills, known as Chipatani. later I received photographs of this lone bull which proved this without doubt. I carved Chipatani using the photos taken of him so long ago, as reference.
