Atelier opening crowned with silver & gold sculpture
Amongst dear friends and 150 guests, the Mavros family welcomed the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Dr The Honourable Navinchandra Ramgoolam for the sensational opening night.
Guests delighted upon arrival at passing through the magnificent animal gate I designed for the entrance. Island ladies modeled the Mauritius Collection jewellery in sterling silver, gold and pearls, giving a first opportunity for Mauritians to see the collection.
The incredible 4 meter ceramic Banana chandelier was a result of a family design collaboration between Forbes and his Aunt, Fee Halsted, celebrated artist and founder of Ardmore Ceramics.
Inside the Atelier
This gate designed by Forbes, depicts a menagerie of amazing Mauritian creatures.
Forbes designed sterling silver Monkeys on art deco brass handles which Forbes had found in an antiques shops in Edinburgh.
