Pansy Shell Paperweight No. 2

Our Pansy Shell family is a set of five sterling silver paperweights.

The beautiful pansy shell is known by many names and can be found all over the world. In New Zealand it’s known as a snapper biscuit. Other English names include sand dollar, sand cake or cake urchin, while in Spanish speaking areas it’s most often called a galleta de mar, or sea cookie.

Whether suggesting the five-petal flower design in the center, a large silver coin, or something delectable to eat, the pansy shell is actually not a shell, but a type of sea urchin turned bone-white by the sun.

If your selection is not in stock, we will inform you within 24 hours and an order will be placed that will be dispatched to you within three weeks.

Each piece is lovingly handmade in our studios in Zimbabwe and in Mauritius. We promise it will be worth the wait! The pieces are then packaged with great care and shipped to our London flagship emporium.

At Patrick Mavros, everything is charmingly human. Here nothing is automated.

If you shop at our online store, your order lands on Alexander Mavros’ desk in London and is given to Adam, the emporium manager – and his team – to complete.

They personally select your piece, polish it by hand, wrap it in our signature wrapping paper adorned with silver foil elephants, crown it with a colourful silk bow, hand write the optional gift message and prepare it for shipping.

All with care and sincere thanks for your support. Each owner of a Patrick Mavros piece is part of our wider family so please keep in touch as we love to hear what adventures it gets up to over the years.

We hope that you are delighted with every order you receive from us, but if you need to return items to us for a refund or exchange you have 30 days to do so.

Please notify us of your intention to return your order to us by emailing
